Downtown Baby

t's been one week in downtown Miami and it’s been crazy to say the least! I don’t like the city at all. It's so busy and dirty. The people are interesting but I meet the members here and they are great! I'm super excited to work with them and do great things here!

My new companion is Elder Norat and he’s from Texas but grew up in the military so he has lived in a lot of different places. He’s super cool and plays for guitar. He goes home this transfer and is just a grinder so I'm excited for that. I live in a 6 man house and everyone is Latin! Its super fun.

This Thursday we had a crazy meal with this lady who is friends with our bishop and the stake president in the stake below us. She is not a member but wanted to make us dinner. She was such a character. She is a big time lawyer and was former president of the Orange Bowl and had this nice house. It was a super funny dinner. In this area you just never know what going to happen.

We have seen some pretty interesting stuff so far. We had to go to the skyscraper because we had a referral there and that was fun. I lowkey get anxiety with all the tall buildings and people. The drivers are crazy here. I hope I make it home alive.   I'm just super excited to work here and keep on gathering Israel.

Transfers, Going To Riverside

Well, it’s been a pretty decent past couple of weeks! I'm pretty sad right now because I am transferring to a new area tomorrow. I love Lauderhill and will miss it sooooooo much. It was been one of my favorite areas.

I am going to a new place called Riverside. It is in downtown Miami and has Calle Ocho. I'm pretty excited. It will be a good area. It will probably be my last area also because I only have  2 transfers left. I am also killing my next companion because he goes home next transfer.

I am going to miss this place so much. These past few weeks we have been able to find some new people to teach and also help the people we have baptized to keep learning. I love y'all so much and hope you have a good week.

Love Elder Isom!

Easter!!

What an amazing interesting week!

A lot of different things happened. I kinda did a bit of everything. We helped a hoarder move, went to a wedding/ring ceremony, general conference, thanksgiving dinner, a baptism, and a big Easter drive thru activity.

Thursday at the church there was a ring exchange for some non members that the ward helped out with and we went to be present as the missionaries and it was weird not gonna lie. But we got a photo with some sweet a member that makes it look like we are drinking alcohol but its just sparking cider. We also helped this lady move and that took forever. She had so much stuff it was crazy.

Saturday night we had Juan Pablo's baptism and it was so good. This guy is amazing and love the Gospel of Jesus Christ so much. He also took us out to dinner Tuesday. He is one of the coolest people I have taught and I'm excited for him to keep on progressing.

This weekend we also had a drive thru Easter activity. It was kinda a mess to start out with but by Sunday it was pretty good. One of the days I dressed up as a Roman Soldier and read a scripture to the cars the drove thru. I would have honestly been doing some other things besides being there but it was terrible but I'm glad it is over because it was 3 night all night so that took a hit out of some lessons but its alright.

General conference was amazing. My favorite talked was Elder Renlund because he answered my questions and also questions of a lady we are teaching. I also loved Elder Eyrings talk saturday.

It was a great week and I'm enjoying the good life here.

Elder Isom
