Another Day in Paradise

Big News!!! Haha just kidding, we had transfer calls and I am staying in Miami Lakes with Elder Gomez. It will be awesome to continue the work here. It's my fifth transfer, which is crazy. This week is bomb and I will share some cool stuff that happened.

Tuesday night we meet this guy named Albert, and he was sick. He is going through a lot and he said he wanted to change, and he even cried a little. He said to come back Friday, so we did. Friday we went by and knocked on his door, and his Dad answered. He said Alberto is not home, and him and his mom were across the road at the laundry mat. We decided it was worth the shot, so we went there. We walked into the laundry mat and didn’t see Albert, so we were about to walk out, but then the Spirit prompted me to go and talk to the lady in the back who was folding clothes.  I asked the lady if her son was named Alberto. She said, “Yes”, so we got talking about her sons’ problems.  Then her son came in, he’s like, “What's up guys.?” We can go back to the house and talk, and then we went back and talked with his parents.  Albert has a big desire change his life and get it back on track.

The Mata family is awesome. They are from Peru and they have a date for the 7th of March. We had a lesson with them Saturday then Sunday we went over and had dinner with the whole family and we had a good time. They love us missionary’s and it's so cute. We also have this awesome older Cuban lady who we are teaching, and she wants to be baptized, but she is so scared of the water being cold and going completely under the water. She’s kinda crazy.

Today we went to Dolphin Mall.  It is huge and super nice. There is a whole store full of Crocs. We also had some bdubs which was so fun. I had a great week.

I love you all and I know the Restored Gospel is true.

Les quiero,
Elder Isom

Just Kicking It

I'm getting really bad at weekly emails, but whatever. The work here in Miami Lakes is great and we are killing it. We have some amazing people and we set another person on date last night at a Family Home Evening that was super good.

This is the last week of the transfer, so next week we will see what happens here. I'll have P-day next Tuesday again.

Fun news is my friend Porter Albertson got called to my mission.  I can't wait to see him in 3 months. Sooo exciting.

I'm loving life right now.

Love you all.

Stake Conference and Tons of Fun!!!

Another solid week in Miami!!

Friday we had a lesson with this family from Peru. It is a son,a mother, and a cousin. We went over with a member and his daughter and taught them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I invited them to be baptized and they said “YES!!!”  Then Sunday they came to Stake Conference.  Before the Conference we talked with Elder James B. Martino of the Seventy and he said he wanted to meet our friends that would come.  So, after the meeting we brought our friends to him, and they got to talk. It was awesome.

Sad news was our baptism Friday had to be postponed because she really wanted a member of the Young Women's to be there.  She has cancer and was in the hospital last week, but hopefully this week we can do it. El diablo works hard before baptisms, but we will beat him.

Stake conference was so good. They talked a lot about the traditions we have in our families. Like do we go on missions or not.  Or do we do Family Home Evening, or the Come Follow Me program. It was amazing. It was super special for this area because a lot of people are first or 2nd generation members and need to establish the traditions of growing closer to Jesus Christ. The transitions we make are very important and it will really help, especially the future, to continue to those good things we do.

Today for P-day we went go Top Golf which was super fun. I found some sweet fake glasses, so I have been wearing them for a bit the last week. Friday morning while we were working out, one of the Elders said, “look outside”,  and the sky was pink. It was sooooo cool. It just rained and the sun was rising. I know the photo below looks photo-shopped, but I pinky promise, it's not.

Also this week we made Arrepas which are Venezuelan and Elder Gonez taught us how to make them.

I love y’all and have a good week,
Elder Isom

Amazing Week

This week was amazing.
At church we had 2 families come and it was the best. The Super Bowl was actually kinda chill. I didn't even notice it was in town, except people would talk about it.
I went mountain biking this morning and then we played football as a Zone.
I am loving life!!!
